Catch Up Post - February 2010

We had several "firsts" this February.

CORBIN'S FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL

Corbin had his first day of preschool at Miss Kendyle's house. Kendyle is a lady in our ward who runs a preschool out of her home. She has turned one of the rooms in her house into a really cute classroom with lots of toys and activity centers for the kids. Several of the other kids in our ward go there too. I wasn't sure how Corbin would do, but he absolutely loves it! You can just tell from these pictures that he's pretty proud of himself. What a big boy!

He is such a likeable boy. Miss Kendyle says that all the other children fight over who gets to sit by Corbin or play with Corbin. Good thing he's had lots of practice with sharing and taking turns!

TRESSA LOST HER FIRST TOOTH! (no...she really DID loose it)

Tressa first told me about her wiggly tooth when we were in Utah visiting our family. At the time I thought she was making it up because she saw that her cousin Rachel had lost 7 teeth already. Finally one day I checked it out and found that it really was quite loose! Then one day she came home from school with a huge smile on her face and one of those little treasure chests with her tooth in it. She was so excited about it! She kept opening up the little box to show us again and again. Unfortunately, one of the times she opened it to show Corbin was in the car...we hit a bump and the tooth went flying. We never did find it. She was SO heartbroken. I explained that the tooth fairy would still know she lost a tooth because she'd be able to see the whole in her smile. We put her tooth fairy doll and the empty treasure chest under her pillow that night and it all worked out just fine. Tressa couldn't believe the tooth fairy brought her 3 whole dollars!

TRESSA HAD HER FIRST SOLO DANCE PERFORMANCE

Tressa's dance teacher has really taken an interest in her and has been providing private lessons for Tressa at no extra charge for months now. She thinks that Tressa is very naturally talented. I'm just glad she enjoys it so much. Here are some pictures and a video clip of her performance. I was so proud of her remembering all the steps without any help.

DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE

Okay, this one isn't a first, but it was still worth posting about. I let Tressa pick out a special dress for her date with Daddy. She chose one that came with a matching dress for her baby doll...so cute! We did her hair all fancy and she totally felt like a princess. It sounds like they had a blast. She came home with a corsage, her face painted, and a bracelet she had made. She couldn't stop talking about her special date with Daddy. I'm so glad they were able to spend some quality time together.
